Half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who needs it. From accident victims, to cancer patients, to transplant recipients, a blood transfusion can be a lifesaver.
The need for blood donations is constant; donating is something you can do today to help someone else wake up healthy tomorrow. As part of Javelin’s Giving Back initiative, the volunteer committee organized a blood donation event for Oakville employees on April 26, 2019. It was a first for Javelin, and some first-time donors turned up! They might have come out for the promise of a cookie but all said they would donate again in the future. Regular donors were supportive, and all involved hope to encourage others to try donating, perhaps at other Javelin-Cimetrix locations across Canada.
